I have an 85 project car. It runs good but there is a thumping noise/vibration under load, like when I'm going uphill in high gear. Downshift or decelerate and it goes away. The yoke coming out of tranny has a lot of side to side play (1/8") so I believe this is the problem. Its not leaking. If this is the problem, what do I replace? If 1/8" play is mormal, how do you check the tranny mount?
