I discovered I have a problem with installing the ProCharger P600B on my 90 Vert. The head unit first hits the hood support rod and when I remove the support the hood then hits the head unit before the hood closes. I am estimating I will need to move the head unit down about 1/2" but using ProCharger's mounting bracket there is no way to do this. I have already adjusted the head unit's torus to its limit so there is no more adjustment there. Since nothing in their kit is slotted I can not think of anywhere else I can make an adjustment.
Has anyone else encountered this with the ProCharger P600B kit? I will make a call to ProCharger on Monday but I thought I would throw this out to see if someone else may have the answer.
I had minor probs w/ my D1 as well. I replaced one of the allen bolts for the torus that was a hex & small enough to allow it to rotate into the slot. Then made a wrench also slim enough to reach in & tighten it a bit. That gave me some clearance on the inner hood brace where it was touching. I also cut & flipped the bottom mount of the hood prop (welded it so it was about 1 in outside of the orig. location. I also flipped the stud on the top hood prop mount & channeled the bolt holes enough to just barely clear the blower. I had to cut a notch in the inner fender where the strut sits when the hood is closed.
As for the whole unit sitting lower, if you remove the blower & loosen the mounting bolts for the mounting plate there is usually a little play where you can rotate the mount down a little.
It is a bear but there is just barely enough room now on mine.
Thanks Trog. With your comments in mind I went out and took another look at the situation. I think I can get the hood support to clear by extending the upper mounting bracket 1.00" and trimming down the 90 deg legs about .200". As far as getting the head unit to clear the hood, the only way I see it working is to cut a clearance notch in the hood channel. Preliminary guesswork makes me think I would have to cut about a 2.00" wide x 2.50" long area out of the hood channel structure.
I have tried everything I can with the bracket as it was drilled by ProCharger. Another problem I have found is that the head unit will hit the air tube going from the air pump diverter valve to the header if I slot any of mounting holes and shift it lower. Unfortunately, I must keep the emissions in tact to pass inspection so cutting the tube is not an option. I am very reluctant to cut the hood so I will give it quite a bit more thought and hopefully get some more thread response before I pull the trigger.
I was able to get more clearance by loosening the compressor scroll bolts and rotating it slightly so the discharge is level and not pointing upward. Still had to clearance my underhood structure though...

I was thinking of doing the same thing to my hood to allow the head unit to clear. I had already loosened the bolts and moved the blower head down but I still had hood clearance issues. Before I cut the hood I made contact with Accessible Technologies and was told they had trouble with some cars and hood clearance. They said there were 3 different blower brackets available he called a 3, 4 or 5. I sent digital pictures of my bracket and he said I had a 4 and needed a 5.
Supposedly there is one on the way and it will position the head unit about 3/8" lower and should allow the hood to close. I guess only time will tell.
Maybe Steve's87 will chime in, as he has the 2nd to the last of my modded blower brackets (the last went out of the country to a non-CF member). The holes are re-drilled, which allows the blower to sit lower/tighter and clear the hood. It also allows it to easily clear the hood prop.

Note: this will not work with FX3.

Aaron,
Does your post mean you have one left? If you do, how much is it? I would be very interested in having a Plan B if the one from Accessible Technologies either does not materialize or does not work.
No, I have no brackets left, but it is fairly easy to modify to get the unit to sit lower and further inboard. Steve sent me an IM earlier, so maybe he will see this post and send some pics up.
His new name is Raidmagic (used to be Steve87vette, I think). You may want to send him an IM.

Actually I meant loosen the 10 or so allen-head bolts around the circumference holding the compressor scroll to the gearbox; then you can twist the scroll housing downward relative to the engine. Just make sure your discharge tube still clears the valve cover.
