I have an 84 - wanting to put on sawblades from an 95, do I need a certain type spacer for them or what do I need? It was told by someone selling some wheels that his 95 wheels would fit an 84-85, this is not the person selling the sawblades but the painted c-5 style wheels, they will fit - without spacers. I do not know what the difference is between the sawblades and A mold type wheels - if that is what they are called. I bought a set of spacers but I do not know if there is a "special" type spacer needed.
Thanks for the help.
They will both fit on the car but will sit in about 3/4" compared to stock without spacers. My buddy put C5 wheels on his 86 and used 3/4" spacers and they sit perfectly. I'm really not sure what you mean by special spacers but he just used the standard 3/4" spacer for the Chevy bolt pattern.
3/4" adapters will allow the late wheels to sit properly in the wheelwells. The early C4 wheels had a 38mm offset and the later C4 wheels are a 56mm offset. This difference of 18mm is about 3/4".
The adapters bolt to the hub and the wheels bolt to the adapter. Factory wheels have a recess on the wheel mounting flange so if your adapters came with an acorn-style lug nut that protruds above the adapter-to-wheel mating surface, the later factory wheels will fit with no problems.
