When the time comes I am thinking of replacing the shocks on my '89 6-spd with the T.P.I.S. shocks. If anyone has used these, could they please let me know what they thought of them, what differences they made in the ride/performance of the car, etc.?
Thanks!

I bought them, but haven't put them on yet. I'm curious.
Thanks for your reply---I understand your curiosity, as I've heard good things about them. The price is right, too. I may have one shock which is starting to leak, which is another reason why I am asking.
I have them and love them. The ride is better than the stock billstens and the car handles well. Turn in and corner exit are very predictable and throttle oversteer is availble but controled

I've also got a set on my 88. I think I got them from Corvette Central.
They're softer than the Z52 spec delco-bilsteins that they replaced. Ride is good.
I do notice some more transitional oversteer following turn-in in say a tight 90 degree turn. I like the behavior since it helps get the car to rotate, but it was a bit surprising at first.
I would say they're slightly underdamped in roll at the rear. The increased rear roll rate seems to induce the extra transitional oversteer, but then the car takes a set and tracks out nicely.
I don't notice any roll oscillation, so the damping rates aren't too far off, but the initial response can make the car feel a bit loose.
They do make the rear a little loose on throttle on turns, but the rear snapes back into line with a full lift of the throttle and throttle steering is very controlable. I kinda liken it to the 02 boxter S that I test drove easy to swing out the rear but still very easy to recover and control in the "grey" area

From memory: I believe the TPIS catalog I have listed them for $179 a set, while the COrvette Central catalog I have with me as I type this shows them to be $139 a set (assuming they are the same).
I installed a set of TPIS shocks last summer on my 93 Ruby coupe. I don't have many miles on them yet, but they handled good on a track day when turning into a hard right after 105+ on the straight. I didn't feel much difference in comparison to the origional Bilsteins on the street, and never used the Bilsteins on the track or autox to fairly compare. My Bilsteins were still functioning after 99,000 miles. My other mods are: Z07 sway bars w/ poly bushings, GS front calipers, 13" Delco drilled and slotted rotors, HPS pads, ss hoses, hi temp fluid, and on five year old Firestone SZ 50 EP tires. The weakest link on track day is me. My equipment handled flawlessly, as expected.
