I had my trans rebuilt, the builder installed a tci kit-I realize it's not much info but that's all I can tell you. The kit allows for manual downshifts at anytime. The problem:
When upshifting at full throttle, whether manually or automatically, it hangs the 2-3 shift. It hangs in gear at the top of the rev range and won't upshift. If I lift it takes at least half a second before it shifts. If I'm manually upshifting, it'll shift sooner if I shift into 4th rather than 3rd, but it hangs nonetheless. Any ideas would be a great help. Thanks!
Try to get me a part number. I can then try to look at what was modded to see if there a a pressure loss likely somewhere, as a result of the kit. It obviously should not be happening and is wrong. Triple check the tv adjustment and pressures. If they are wrong, it will cause shift timing and shift quality issues regardless of the valvebody. Focus on tv first. If it has the stock regulator spring and boost valve, 50 psi on the low side and 150 psi on the high side are typical.
Been at work, I'll try to get that # today. thank you for the input. TCI asked me to record the shift points at little throttle and 1/4 throttle and call them back. I'll let ya know how that goes. thanks again for your input and time!
Glad to hear the DR's didn't cause you any probs. My Crossfire ended up w/3500 extra miles at trips end, no probs whatsoever! It was a blast! I really enjoyed the trip and it was great meeting everyone.
Pete: no part# yet, however I did get the chance to adjust the TV cable properly and this is what I found to happen. It is a bit closer in to the firewall than it was, it shifts sooner and softer(not good-short shifting), still hangs the 2-3 shift, if I hang in the throttle till 6k rpm it'll go ahead and shift ,that hasn't changed and the TV cable doesnt seem to affect it. It also now won't downshift after 4th reaches 24-2500 rpm or so, it must be manually downshifted.
