How to identify 85 Heads ?
I thought i had a stock 882 heads on my 1985 L89 but now I am wondering if they might be 462 heads. A buddy of mine was over and was looking at the heads on the car while the valve cover was removed and thinks they may be 462's. There is not a whole of difference except for chamber size and of course compression.
Is there any way to verify which ones I have without removal? Any identifying marks that are viewable on the outside or inside?

882's were 1970's smog heads and 462's were 60's fuelie heads - big difference there but they were both long gone prior to the '85 vette.
If you remove the valve cover you can see the casting numbers on top of the heads.
