I have a 1990 Corvette, turned it from a stock 350 into a 383 stroker. Still has the same stock aluminum heads. Now I've been told that I need a bigger intake. Whats are some recommendations? My tech told me to go with the Stealthram intake, but I've heard about the problems shutting the hood or having to get a custom plenum. I would like to gain as much power out of the motor as I can, is there another intake out there that I can use without having to cut my hood or getting a custom plenum? I found a guy in Houston that has a Stealthram intake and is will sell it for $500, but would I have problems with the hood shutting?
I have a 350 with twisted wedge aluminum heads and a nice healthy cam. I have had an Accel Super Ram intake on it and am very happy with it. I HAVE read in the past that it doesn't fit under the stock Corvette hood....well....it sure fits under my stock hood, not with much spare room though.

The superram was designed to fit under the Vette hood. The stealth ram wasn't.
But some have made modified plenums for the stealthram that will clear the vette hood. I have no idea who makes/sells them, but they are out there. Your best bet is to post a new thread and ask exactly that in the title.
I have the HSR system, and the manifold has not been modified, but the plenum box was built to fit under the stock c4 hood. So you could have the box cut and redone...
HSR is fine, but as it comes from Holley it does not fit. You'd need a hi-rise hood.
There are other questions you have to answer before deciding on whether you want to find a modified HSR, or a miniram, or a superram. What is the combo as it stands now, what heads, what cam, what has been done to the intake? Theres plenty on my website to read.
Well its 350, and we pt a stoker kit on it, now its a 383 stroker. Still has stock aluminum heads, not sure about the specs on the COMP cam, but when I took it to my tech he said I was losing power because the stock intake was to small. So I've been looking for an intake. My dads friend had an 89, with he exact same motor, 383 stroker, but had a blower on it. He sold the corvette, and kept the motor to part out. That vette ran mid 11's, but it had a Paxton blower. He gave me the intake that was on it. This is it. Does anybody know anything about this intake? Its all one piece, and does fit under the hood. I tried looking it up, but couldn't find anything. Its dirty right now cause its been sitting in a shop for a while, but I'm I'm getting it steamed tomorrow.
If that TPiS intake is all you have I'd use it. Seriously, use that intake on your 383 and put a decent set of heads/220-230ish cam on it and you'll have a screamer.
That intake is the one you want.
P.S. If your tech knows you have a MINI and told you you need a Stealth he's an idiot and you need a new tech.
Ok, well I'm gonna go with this intake cause it didn't really cost me anything to get it, it was my dads friends intake, and it sounds like a good intake. Do I have to change the stock throttle body too? I don't really know much about this, I'm learning right now. What about the injectors?
My tech is a friend of the family, we go to him cause we've known him for a long time, my dad didn't really want to take the car anywhere else.
He mainly specializes in fords, vipers and power strokes, but works on everything else too. His website http://www .fastlaneincorporated.com/
They did a good job installing the exhaust system.
Stock injectors from the stock intake. Not sure how many lbs. We had 30 lb injectors, but we took them off cause we thought it was pointless if the stock intake wasn't doing anything.
THe MR is a good intake and work well on a properly prepped 383 cid vette engine. I used to run one on my car, and it works fine until you get into seriously high HP.
The intake you have is one of the older designs that lacked the center cast vacuum ports. It has also had the fuel rails modified, and did away with the transfer tube.
Northwest side of Houston. 290 and Jones. The intake came off of another 383 setup, that was in an 89 vette, that car ran 11's, but with a stage 2 Paxton blower. They never could catch traction on that car, but they also were running with regular street tires. Now we're gonna see how it does on my car, without the blower.
