Today I felt like getting out a gun and shooting my gd dash until it shut the f up. Does anyone else, or did they ever have this squeaking noise coming from like 2 areas somewhere up by the dash? I am not sure where the noise is coming from exactally, but it is from when I go over bumps or when the car shifts. It is almost constant noise while the car is in motion. If anyone can even give me a hint to where this noise comes from, I would be MOST grateful!
Well I already nailed out my doors with Dynaliner. They are noise-free now and shut really solid. I also did the back around the back window and took care of that.
It's just somewhere up front now, either in or under the dash. I really was losing my mind. Usually I have music, but the crappy sony cd player decided it didn''t want to load a disc this morning. I would really like to find this noise....

Had a similar problem & it turned out to be the clips on the upper trim pad that slide onto retainers at the bottom of the windshield. Had to remove the upper trim pad to lube the buggers. Like you, it drove me nuts. I don't know if this would be recommedned, but I thought of spraying WD-40 around the the front of the pad, but didn't as maybe it would cause a problem with the seal, etc. Anway, all is quiet now.
Where are those clips exactally located/what do I have to pull apart to get to them? Sounds like I will have something to do this weekend! Any info you have will be appreciated!

Their attached to the upper trim pad, at the front of said pad. Don't recall the exact location. I have a scan for the U/pad removal. If you would like to have it let me know & will e-mail to you. It's for the 95 model.
I just finished replacing the old foam tape under the upper dash pad in my 94. Some of it had deteriorated into a half liquid mush, making it completely useless in stopping the squeaks. It took me about 2-3 hours of work (most of it was getting the dash off, about 30 minutes to remove the old, cut and place the new) that stopped most of my squeaks. Biggest problem I had was some of the plastic pieces have become brittle, so you have to be very careful when removing them. Now I just have to get the plastic infront of the gauges to stop rattling, and I can begin on the squeaks in the hatch area
How hard is it to remove the dash? Are there many hidden screws? I removed one once in my old 88 Iroc-Z... it actually wasn't that bad. This looks a LOT more complicated - as these dashes aren't just flat, they are all molded into a much different shape.
I probably wouldn't have done this job without the FSM, or atleast a drawing of the dash & components.
The dash itself has 6 screws and 3 bolts, but you have to remove the vents (including the one on the top center) 8 screws and the plastic around the fuse box on the passenger side. I think you have to drop the passenger side knee bolster and loosen/remove the center I/P trim plate too, but mine was already off for the radio.
After that you just pull the dash up and out. It gave me a little trouble going back in, I had to get my bro to help line up the clips so I could press it in right, but it wasn't too bad.
