Water pump change

Guys ;
this past weekend i had my water pump replace and lower hose and 3 bottles of antifreeze for a total of 400.00 do you guys think that was a resonable price or did i get ripp off

I replaced mine myself for $150ish. (new pump, anti freeze, and RTV) It took about two hours and wasen't a bad job.

Nyc labor rates are much higher than Ne Pa rates. That would likely be a $400 job here. You did ok.

Where you live, $400.00 sounds about right. The water pump cost me $153.00 and figure three hours labor @ $80.00 per hours.(it took me about three hours).

To replace the WP, hoses & fluid on an '88 I'd say you got a real deal.

Consider that, if parts cost were $150-$200, then labor charge was only $200-$250 for the WP on an '88 Vette...
