Aerospace Brakes...
I am looking to put them on the car before this season of racing. Moving to manual brakes to be able to more consistently stage the car in the beams.
Main things I would like to hear about is:
(1) how much better are they than your stock brakes?
(2) how much lighter are they?
(3) will they clear a 15" rim in the front?
(4) any beotches about them?
I see Wilwood makes some for our car also. 6 pistons - but they are 2k, which is more than I am willing to spend on slowing down
(that might not be funny someday).
Nitrous Sam I know you bought a set and were pleased with them. Please refresh my memory as to what you previously shared and any new info...
Thanks Fellas.
PS: Solid rear project is WELL underway and coming together real nice.
I've had them for 2 years,
1) Not sure they're any better, but I had the 13" ZR1s
2) 35#+ lighter than ZR1s
3) they do clear a 15" wheel, be careful tho, I had to space them out when I went to the Aluma-stars
4)ha

4)had to send them back for new brackets the first time, the caliper was to far away from the spindle and the pads weren't making full contact, they gave me great service and everything new no-charge
Let me know if you need anything else on them,
Dave

Did you go with an aftermarket reservoir....assuming your manual with your now right.?
I am going to be removing a bunch of brake lines off my car with this solid rear install - casualties of my placement of the brackets
....as well as the fuel lines.
So I figured I would do the manual brakes at the same time.
Last question for you specifically Dave. Where do you have your IC set? i am looking at putting mine about 43" out and about 5" high for a starting point.
I am probably going to need to get some different wheels with the rear...got a TON of room to the side with the way I did my brackets - might be able to fit a 13" tire under it! Depends on how much squate the car has....how much does your squat on the hit?
I know I can tune this out with the 4link - but curious as to what you have yours at....
PS: Lied about that previous question being the last too! lol
For your IC thats a pretty good starting point, I've been all over the place trying stuff, but every car is different. Tire size, front & rear shock settings, springs, weight, converter.....they all affect how it will work, just need to try it out. I'm a little shorter & higher, but that's why I've been on the back bumper a couple of times, need to be closer to your setting!
Shoot me some pics & keep me posted,
Dave
