Maybe this is a stupid question but I just put new Biilstine shocks on my 96 and it seems to be sitting about 3/4" higher even after driving it to settle the suspension. Is this normal?
Everything else seems pretty tight could I have a bad spring? It doesn't seem like anything else would affect ride height but the spring. BTW my car has 82k miles, LT4, coupe with "soft " suspension ( I don't remember the correct RPO for the suspension)
Happened on my 87 with new shocks, they were kyb. Gained about 3/4" height, but I needed it. I would get some tire rub on the hood on one side with the old shocks. They were really shot, all is well now.
Bilsteins are high pressure monotube shocks. The car would sit higher if the old (OE???) shocks are low pressure twin-tube or if they were high pressure units that had lost their gas charge. 1/2 to 3/4" height increase is about right when replacing a low pressure unit.
