I've owned my 1990 L98 for 4 years and tonight I discovered a rocker switch in the center console storage bin that I'd never noticed before. Too much stuff in the bin I guess! The switch is located below the coin holder at the front of the bin. There is no hint in the owner's manual as to the existance of the switch or its function.
Anyone know the purpose?
I have an aftermarket security system, installed by the PO, but the switch does not appear to have any effect on the operation of the system (or anything else).
Go figure.
I would guess valet switch also. Its also so you can stop the alarm from sounding if you lose your remote but still have your ignition key. check the alarm manual if you can find one.
