Using scans to evaluate purchase
Would it be useful for a technical neophyte to buy a
cable, download free scanning software, practice with
my laptop on my 1984 C4 to use the system to
checkout potential purchase of another '84-'87 C4?
If so, which free software would you recommend?

A scan would be useful, but not sure if it's worth it or not. Anyone can just visually look over the car and make a decision. Scans are more for improvement and looking for items that need attention.
