Checking over my 92 I found a crack in the (plastic) power steering pump pulley... Taking it off and visiting my local parts store caught me by surprise!!! WOW!!! $$$ Surfing the net I found an upgrade LT-1 kit to convert from the double sided belt to the single sided belt... Included everything to make the change-over... Anyone had any experience making this upgrade? Any additional (extra) problems experienced???
thanks
Believe it or not this was a GM fix. But I think time ran out on it. GM also has the kit to upgrade to a single sided belt. I have 2 spares of the double sided and no vibrations or shreading of the belt so I don't need the upgrade, yet.
Yes it was and I found that out... Checking the parts though, a new power steering pump pulley will cost with shipping $300.00... However I can buy the upgrade kit which includes a new power steering pulley for $150.00 plus shipping... But like so many of these upgrades there is side-effects that are not considered... I am hoping someone has had an experience with this upgrade and will share their experience.

Just a suggestion, I have taken parts off my vette and went to the local parts house and walked out with the same part as I took in and about 1/10 the price of the corvette part. Course if you wanna kept to number matching this is a bad idea. Put a power steering pump on the kids vette for about 100 bucks, corvette parts, number matching was several hundred dollars more and its the exact same pump.
Power steering pump does not come with a pulley... You are right about replacement parts being the same though... I would buy a new pump if the pulley came with it...
