That's my point. The OP stated that INTERIOR lights stay on. My hatch only lights the cargo lights, not all the interior lights. If all the interior lights stay on it is NOT hatch related.
The 2 cargo bay lights will be enough to send the battery flat overnight for sure anyway Mojo, when i had my 87 just one of the door lights sent mine dead flat in about 30 hrs. (does anyone else hate it when passengers in their car play with things??)

On my 1990 coupe, "Sys" flashed just like yours. Mine my have been tied in with an Electronic Control Module that was going bad. I'm not sure. My ECM got so bad that the engine would run only 10 minutes and then shut down for the rest of the day. I replaced the ECM in October 2005 and "Sys" has never flashed since then.
