this is the picture of my housing with the stat recess in it - old style the recesss is in the base manifold - I also have found a thicker felpro tstat gasket that is 1/8th thick - I'll report once I check all for clearances with the t/b and the n20 plate
Thanks JD. I just committed to buy one in the for sale section. Hopefully the seller will include it to save me the trouble of trying to fab one, or hunting one down from tpis.

calling them is easier then "finding stuff" on their site, Chris is the guy I always speak with - top notch and knows what you need except for a stat that doesnt bottom out lol

I did check the website with no luck. That is what prompted me to post the thread. Hopefully, it is available and not a $100 item.
Mini Ram Parts, TPIS part# 500-600(water neck for corvette) $25.00
On a related note, the MR II, I have did not have a recess cut in the lower side of the intake, and did not have the bottoming out issue with a stat that others have found.
Thanks Mick.
After doing a search, I see there is alot of good info on the mini-ram. Tech info. Performace info I hope to find out for myself .
My 406 with afr heads may like this manifold.

You're welcome Pete, I think that will make a good combo. Mine seems to like the afr/mini combo. At this point the performance is real good, the thing that I want is more inches....possibly increased by summer (if I get off my lazy a$$) .
