I have a couple of questions regarding heater hoses. The heater inlet hose just broke on my 92 LT1. After checking a number of auto parts suppliers I found that some of these hoses had been discontinued. Molded heater hose for that year is an item I think I can find at the dealer but I’m not sure I want to pay their prices just yet. Does anyone know of an on-line supplier that carries heater hose for that year?
Seeing as how I have to replace the heater hose and coolant, I was wondering if maybe I shouldn’t do the throttle body bypass. Can anyone who has done it recommend this as an improvement over the way the engine was originally plumbed? Thanks for any help.

I just did a TB bypass and replaced the heater hose on my '89. The routing may be a little different on your LT1, but I removed the heater hose that goes to the TB and replaced it entirely, routing around to the front of the engine. That way you replace the heater hose and the short TB hose on the front of the block with one hose. I just bought a 4 foot piece of Gates reinforced 5/8" black heater hose. It cleans things up and replaces 4 clamps with 2. You can cap the 2 TB outlets if you want.

Thanks! That sounds like the most practical way to solve the problem. And, that's probably why they don't sell too many of the molded hoses.
