Default Mobil 1 in my new engine?

I completly rebuilt my 350 about 6 months ago and have since put only 1500 miles on it. I just changed the oil the other day and used Mobil-1 synthetic for the first time. I have read posts on here that synthetic is no good...especially with a fresh engine. Do you guys think I should change out the synthetic for a conventional oil?
-Thanks

I second the keeping it in. It wont do any harm to the engine and 1500 miles it should be pretty broken in anyways. Most new performance engines are broken in on the stand for less than that number of 'miles' and then filled with Synth and stuffed into the cars.

Many engines (including GM) come new from the factory with Mobil 1, right?

Factory build tolerances are tighter than what a builder does usually.

Probably came with the correct rating for the older engines. The new oil standard isn't the same as back then. SM verus SG?

The L98 did not require Synthetic because it had an oil cooler. When the LT1 went into production GM had found out that by using Synthetic they could maintain the oil temp without an oil cooler. Generally speaking an LT1 engine will run 30 to 50 degrees hotter without Synthetic oil.
