Here I go again. I have a 1994 LT1 6speed. I had the clutch replaced and knucklehead turned my flywheel making smooth, non-chattering engagement tricky at best. I bought a Camaro flywheel and new stock replacement Corvette clutch/pp/tob set up with intentions to turn the flywheel down to spec. Well, I ended up getting lucky and buying a brand new dual mass flywheel on Ebay for under $400. The guy I bought it from says it is for an LT4 motor only.
Just to make sure, aren't the LT1 and LT4 flywheels the same?
I bought my flywheel from a guy on e-bay and he got his from a crate engine (LT4) and he had an auto and didn't want the flywheel or clutch. Works fine in my 92 LT1.
BTW, when the LT4 came out the LT1 was auto only with the LT4 being 6speed only.

The flywheels are the same, however they have balance weights in them on the backside some in different places than others.
Also, if you put a stock corvette clutch with the camaro flywheel, that is why you have the chattering problem. The corvette has a clutch with no springs while the camaro clutch has springs.
And you should not have the dual mass flywheel turned down, it will get damaged.

I never got around to putting in the Camaro clutch...I sold it to a kid that works for me for his 94 Trans Am.
I told the guy who put the clutch in for me NOT to turn the flywheel. I was getting some slipping in 5th and it had about 85,000 miles on it. He owed me some money so I thought it would be a good trade---what he owed me for sticking in clutch. I figured it would be OK until I decided to upgrade the motor ( hoping for a 383 or super charger sooner or later). WELL, once he saw the DM he went on his own and turned it. I have the worst clutch EVER now. I only get about 1.5" of actual pedal travel and it chatters like a set of wind up teeth. I have since decided that I am going to leave motor pretty much stock and put my money into getting a C5, restoring my 77 C3, and my 70 Monte Carlo. So stock clutch set up is the ticket. My goal is to have one of every body style in about 5 years.
