Default Wideband datalogging

Time to finally get a wideband... I would like to have a single logging system to collect RPM, TPS, MAP, AFR, etc. for tuning purposes. Is it easier to get something simple like an Innovative LC-1 and push the output to a laptop running Datamaster or would it be better to get something big like a PLX R-500 and feed the sensors into it? It seems to me that AFR without RPM and MAP would be useless for tuning and the R-500 might allow me to not take my laptop along all the time. Oh, and I need a narrowband output so I don't need to use a 3rd O2 sensor.

Is anyone running the R-500? The knock sensor stuff sound interesting, but I'm not sure how that would work with our 2 knock sensors. The G-meter for $80 looks like a great deal too...

This is on a built up 383 with blower and alky/h2o injection

Thanks!

the LM-2 has the RPM box that will allow you to log RPM and 3 or 4 other inputs like you want to do. www.innovatemotorsports.com

How do I get the output from that into Datamaster?

Was the install difficult? What sensors are you logging? Where did you purchase it?

Thanks.

STAY AWAY FROM PLX! I bought a brand new DM5 while the car was down for winter work, and by the time I got it installed and tested, I discovered it didn't work, no 3.3V output to the display. I called them and told them to send me an advanced exchange on my CC and I'd return the bad unit once I had a new replacement (the narrowband output part was working and driving my ECM).

Anyway, two weeks later still no replacement. So I call the guy again, he says he'll get right back to me. A day later I finally get an email saying I need to send mine back, and pay for it's repair since it's more than 90 days old!

No way I'm going to give those SOB's one red cent more.
