I'm looking for a wiring breakdown of the headlight switch on a 1996 c4. I'd like to know color/function if anyone could provide it. My reason for the request is that I just purchased this car and I need to add daytime running lights to make it legal to drive in BC. I am getting a GM Y-body manual which I think would contain that kind of information but will not recieve it in time to meet the deadlines for importing it into Canada. Thanks in advance.
Jim, that was what I was looking for. Do you happen to know which one triggers the low beam headlights?

There is a yellow wire from the Headlight Switch to the Headlight Dimmer Switch. Then a TAN wire to the low beam filaments and a LT GRN wire to the High Beam Filaments.
Once at that site:
Click on "Daytime Running Lights"
Second one down "Corvette Daytime Running Lights Module"
Click on "Click here for more detail"
DRL-1C4 Daytime Running Lights: $39
Click "Add to Cart"
I have looked in to this option but there are a couple of problems. 1)It only turns on the front two turn signal lights not all of the parking lights so it won't pass the inspections. 2)It involves cutting up the wiring harness in multiple locations which I am trying to avoid.
Jim, just to clarify, do the tan and light green wires come out of the Headlight switch or the dimmer switch?

Wow, I thought it just plugged in with minimal cutting involved. Well, forget about that. If Jim wants to tell me which pages in the FSM he's referencing, I'd be happy to scan it and either post or email it to you...
That would be great if you could. I'm trying to remove the pins from the factory connector and make a secondary harness with a relay to run the daytime running lights. I was planing on posting my completed project when I'm done.

Well, not one to sit idly by, I actually got out my 96 FSM and looked at the Table of Contents. On page 8A-102-0/1 there's a schematic of "HEADLIGHTS: DAYTIME RUNNING LAMPS T61 (CANADIAN ONLY). Might this be of use to you? Or do you want the regular schematics? Or both?

Well, I too thought it was just a "plug n play". I assumed the purpose of this part was to allow a C4 to pass inspection in Canada. That's what I get for jumping too conclusions, and not paying attention more.
If that's not the case, exactly what good is it.........
I would love to have just the wiring diagram for the headlight switch & exterior lights without DRL. The DRL wouldn't be nesscary but if it's easy to get I'll take a copy of that too.

PM me your email address. Do you know what your ISP's maximum file attachment size is?
Ah, forget about an email address. Here they are. Depending on your browser, just right-click and select Save Target As and download to your hard drive. Good luck:
