Violent Shake

When I drive my 93 vette 6 speed about 80+, while giving it gas it shakes, but then while im goin 80+ and cruise not touching the gas pedal its smooth riding, what could be the problem?

Check your u-joints. A vibration under acceleration only could be a bad u-joint (could be in driveshaft or half-shafts).

Could this be a broken or loose motor mount? Something to check.

Are you in 6th or 5th gear when you are accelerating?

Darn this is the same problem i got on my lexus DD, it shakes while accelerating at low speed but it smoothed out once i attained certain speed, but even while cruising on hwy it still shakes for a slpit sec than rides smooth, according my home boy mechanic, it does b/c one of cyl has problem and could cause overheating and ultimately damage Cat converter. Is this same symton u have, when it shakes i thought could be some suspension problems, even at idle with gear in park, still it shakes for a split sec. If u have same symptons than right now my mechanic working on it, i let u know when we solve problem.
