Default Need Info About Converting Gauge Cluster

i have a 1986 Corvette,and I want to convert my speedo/tach/gauge info, to the next newer style, say a 1989 or 1990 i believe? is this possible to do? if so, how hard will it be? what all is involved? any info will be appreciate?

IIRC, it's plug and play.

I don't remember there being any wiring issues.

The changes in the IP were designed to improve visability and durability...

I know folks have done this, hopefully, they will confirm my memory on this one.

doe anyone have a picture of an "IIRC" gauge cluster? I need to see what it looks like, if it is the one I want? Also I need to know what is the difficulty of installing the cluster into my 1986 corvette?

I think a guy on here named Jeff or Jeffe maybe put a 90 dash in his early C4. Try a search in the archives.

That would be me.. I did that in 2002

Not sure if this is what you are looking to do or just swapping the cluster.

my friend swapped out his 84 cluster with the one from my 89. plug and play

oooh... someone needs to take Internet Shorthand 101.

IIRC = If I Remember Correctly.

Jeff is right, the gauge clusters from 84 to 89 are interchangable.
