BPP Vortec Intake
Check you stuff close if/when you order an Intake for your C4 from BPP. I got the stuff and went to install it this am......no template to cut the hole in the shroud....of course, no one works at BPP on the weekends, probably, and it will be another week before I can install the intake.....
Does BPP suffer from poor quality control??

Some of us have had very good luck with their product, some not so good. Mackey's angel is from an earlier flare up in regards to the product. Call them Monday, and enjoy your new intake.

I have had to make three modifications to mine in order to get it to work and fit properly, well almost properly. The clearance in the top is still a bit too tight. I don't have a misalignment problem because I didn't use the template and used a carpentry square to position the unit into the front shroud. I do not have the collapsed intake tube problem because I added some reinforcement just after the initial instillation. A fix-it kit is supposed to solve the problem of the collapsed intake tube. I used different mounting bolts than those supplied with the unit.

You're probably better off without the template if its still like the one they sent with mine. I installed mine as directed and it rubbed three spots on the hood. I'm a mechanical engineer and have worked with cars and with my hands all my life, so its not that I wasn't capable of installing it correctly.
Breathless offered to refund the purchase price and I took them up on it. I think it would be a better product if it were priced a little more in line with the quality that I received.
