race seats

Made to order.
Send shoulder and waist sizes.
These are serious race seats, not a fashion statement.

Anyway Dave helped me out.
Aluminum seats.
Made to fit your waist with wrap around shoulder supports.
That's why they need your measurements
I weigh 240 lbs and wear a size 60 sport coat. 38" waist
(I used to be a powerlifter)
So a seat that fits was very important.
They come with a denim like cover that has padding.
So you can wash them.
I had them welded into my car.
You can have them fitted to existing mounts but if you are a seriuos racer those mounts will rip right out.
What sold me was there was a guy that had these seats in his Outlaw Car. He rolled it seven times.
He sent a picture of his Ultra Shield seat back to the manufacturer after the accident.
They were the only thing that didn't have a bend or dent.
They weigh 15 pounds.
I had mine powder coated black. Didn't want that shiny metal showing in the back.
I bought two.

Since you can't weld fiberglass, and the C4 floor pan is 'glass...and any roll cage will be made of steel and you can't weld aluminum to steel.....

Perhaps you had mounting brackets welded to a cage, to which the seat then bolted??

I had them installed by Alston Race Car Engineering.

Call and ask for mike.
Ask mike how he did it if you want the exact pin point overview on how the heck he got em in there!
Alston Race cars is very well known in the pro ranks of NHRA.
I am sure special brackets were made for the car.
There are metal plates under the floor pan the seats are connected to.
And yes they are mounted to the roll cage which is made out of Chrome Moly by the way.
Once the NHRA tech guys see the Alston plate they know it was done right.

If this is a street car that they are going in, then you will probably want the latter, rally seat. The Corbeau A4 is a good example of this, and is the only Corbeau guaranteed to fit into a C4. Another option for this style of seat are the many, many brands coming over from the Far East at this time; you'll recognize them because they look really cool and only cost about $150 -$175 each. Most of them will fit into a C4, but finding mounting brackets is up to you.
These seats use a bottom mount, where the rigid style use side mounts. The rigid styles are not (generally) adjustable; you put the seats exactly where you want them, fabricate the mounts to hold the seat in that location, and live with it forevermore.
The rally-types are almost always fore/aft adjustable and have seatbacks that are adjustable for rake/angle. Only the more expensive seats...like the Corbeaus...have seatbacks that will tilt forward to allow access into the back of the car.A search should turn up lots of threads on this subject, with some very good advice from those who have tried it and from those who have successfully accomplished the task.
Good luck!

He sells seat rails that are all bolt-in.
I let him use my car for prototyping.
