Default 1990 Hood question

Under the hood there are two small (looks like shock absorbers)supports
to ease raising and lowering of the hood. Does GM still make the supports, if not where can I get them and does anyone have a part
number and what are they called?

Thanks

Yes, they are designed to ease opening the hood.

I don't know about availability from GM, but you can probably find them at one of the major auto parts stores, like AutoZone. I found the ones for ther hatch glass on my 86 there.

If they aren't on display the counter person can look them up in one of their books.

Yep, but it'll have to wait until tomorrow when it's daylight. I've got to photo my slotted/drilled rotors for another guy.

I measured the length and found one that matched. They are universal. I got two new one from Kragens. I think they were about $15.00 each. Easy to change and make opening the hood real easy.

I still am uncertain of exactly what part is being talked about. Hope Jake can post a pic!

Bad news.

I just went out to take the photos you asked for but my 96 doesn't have the short ones. My 1986 does, but it's in Texas and I'm in Indiana. My 96 only has the single hood assist, over three feet long.

Hopefully someone else can post the pics for you.

Sorry,

Jake
