The sensor is in the block, the module, which interpretes the signal, is in the PCM.
Disconnect the battery.
Use a ground strap to your wrist so you don't short out any boards.
The hatch cover is on the bottom of the PCM, you just unbolt it, flip it over.
Remove the cover.
Pull out the old module.
Plug in the new module.
Replace the cover.
Remount the PCM
Reconnect the battery.
Reset the radio presets.
Drive on!

You could probably really live dangerously and forego disconnecting the battery. I realize it is best practice to disconnect the battery (the factory manuals have disconnecting the battery as the first step for virtually anything you do on the car) but I changed my knock module without bothering disconnecting and it only took a couple of minutes for the module swap.
