My stock 93 LT1 pulls close to 21" at idle, if you have a hotter cam it will be quite a bit lower.

Altitude affects vacuum as well. I believe you lose 1 inch of vacuum for every 1000 feet that you climb.

21 in. Hg is pretty standard for healthy, stock automobile engines.

Brad,
16 is good for a 219 cam. I make about 13. My idle speed is stock though. Bumping up my idle to 800 rpm will likely add to the vacuum reading.

Pete, yes, I had my idle bumped by Alvin to 850.

I must make a correction. Where I live, we're actually about 450 feet above sea level. Pete, you're about 550.

14-15" here. Comp 503 cam, 850 rpm, 32 degrees advance at 800 rpm.
