I just bought a vert x-brace for my GS. I looked in my Helms book and see there is a spacer for the parking brake cable, and a floor stud plate which I don't have. Any one who installed this on a coupe have any part#s and bolt sizes for these pieces?
I've done the X-brace on my 95 coupe. Looking at that fiche you need the part #'s 4, 5, 27, and 14. Quantity of four of the #14. Those are the spacers. The floor studs you can do yourself with bolts and large washers. You have to remove the seats and drill 4 holes in the floor. then drop some bolts with large washers on them thru the holes. Use some silicone here to prevent water leaks. All the bolts are 3/8-16. Get some grade 8's at the hardware store. The front bolt holes are already in the frame ready and tapped. The real trick is the rear bolt holes. If you are a welder make a plate to weld in there to give you some threads. The metal is thin here. I made the holes with a small drill bit to start them then used a punch to roll the metal in. Then I tapped the holes and JB Welded some studs in permanantly.
Found the part #'s. The spacers are 10153644 at $7.99 each at Van Devere Olds. The reinforcement is 1409624 if you don't have it already. It just connects the 2 braces together. I always use Dal at Van Devere for GM parts. He does all the sales to the F-body group. The prices from him are typically half what they are at a local GM dealer. The number is 1-800-362-9494 ext 501.
