Default SLP intake CLAW

I added the SLP intake induction claw (3 cone filters). I have heard that some who have added this, also fabricated a barrier to put around the cones to help prevent sucking in hot air from the engine compartment. Does anyone know of this and have some pictures or specs on how to do this. I dont want to put holes in the plastic radiator shroud, but merely help to block the rear end of the cones from the engine comparment with some kind of fab'ed barrier. thanks.

I haven't seen anyone that has done that. It would only help at idle, I don't know how that would be a benefit. It's possible a small amount of extra air would go in the filters at speed since the air couldn't escape back out of gills or wheel wells. Getting more cold air and ram air would help, all other air intake mods seem to be extra weight and no gains other then looks.

The car breathes air that has already gone through the radiator, if you block that off you could actually hurt it if you dont cut some holes to let air come in from the front.

(it doesnt breathe through that little slit between the nose and the hood)

OK, then I will leave it as is with the claw installed in place of the stock air box. I assume i would get the same air flow in as for stock as long as I dont fool around with any kind of barrier adds. thanks.
