Default Windshield installation parts question...

NEVERMIND, WE FIGURED IT OUT, SEE POST 3

If you've been following my headache, the glass guy is here again for round 3.

They brought this GM foam piece that goes somewhere at the base of the windshield, it doesn't look like the one that came off of there.

It's L shaped, with a thin plastic backbone on the inside of the L and that has a sticky back strip on it. Its the whole length of the windshield base.

The one we removed was stuck to the glass a few inches above the bottom edge and was visible just at the front edge of the dash pad. It looks more like regular foam backed tape with an indentation in it.

Have any ideas on where this goes? Does it go on the bottom edge of the glass to set the height of the glass or something? If that's the case I don't think the car had it to begin with. And also if that's the case I still don't have a glass-to-dash seal, maybe I'll just run out to home depot.

Let me know if you need a better description.

Here's a shot of the piece that came out:

The part they ordered is #2 in this diagram (top one)

Nevermind, we got it.

This piece appears to stick onto the top edge of the metal frame. I guess it was a redesign by GM, mine never had anything there.

This definitely can't be done with the w/s in place.
