I have a 1991 L98 and someone told me that 91 was the only year for rough cast TPI runners. Other than having a different texture, is there anything different about them?
The SLP runners can be good replacement they just require alot of porting out of the box to see any significant improvement the same goes for the Edlebrock. As far as a runner that you can bolt on out of the box and see any gain you have the ASM runners which are also rebadged and sold at a higher price by TPIS. From what I've heard though good luck on getting a set of the ASM runners.
I think its pretty well documented that the ASM runners flow the best out of the box (if you can get them). I'm sure you could port the SLP runners to flow as well, but it would take a lot of work. If you're looking for a set, they pop up in the parts section and ebay sometimes. You could also check the third gen f-body sites.
