Default Fuel Filter Heat Shield

I just posted this on another thread-

Does anybody know if there is a heat sheild on the fuel filter?
I know there is a sheild on the catalytic converter--and also on the floor pan under the filter.
I just changed the fuel filter on my 96 LT4, and noticed there was no heat sheild between the filter and the catalytic converter.
Does any body have a part number for this sheild--or is there not supposed to be one there?
I can't see any holes to mount the sheild.

Thanks in advance for your input and answers to this perplexing question!

Funny you should mention this. I was under my LT4 today and noticed the same thing. My L98 has a heat shield.

I don't remember one on my 92, either. I suspect the heat shield on the cats, plus the constant flow of cooling fuel (well, if 120* is truely cool!), I doubt it's required.

in short, vapour lock is a thing of the past.

No heat shield on the 92 & up cars.
I wrapped my fuel filter & lines with header wrap. It might not be necessary but it made me feel better.

No heat shield on my 1996. Was thinking of moving the fuel filter to the passenger side of the fire wall and make it an easy change. But,
maby to much heat under the hood for the fuel filter.

Still thinking about moving it and moving the battery in back of the passenger seat.
