Default Need help setting TV cable

I just finished installing a MRII, Billet TB and a NOS plate - the TPiS cruise control and TV cable bracket wont adjust far enough to set the TV cable properly due to the thicker TB and the plate - the cruise cable is not even long enough to connect to the TB!
I need to figure out what the stock TPI throttle valve (TV) cable length (TB cable mount to linkage - see pic below) is so I can fabricate a new plate to move the linkage forward. As it is right now, at WOT it pulls the cable all the way out and then some...

Any help would be appreciated

Good luck, there were some posts on this, but think it was only about the HSR setup...maybe someone will chime in.

Sam
On my '87 stock setup, the distance from the front of the bracket ( lower hole ) where the TV cable mounts to the stud centerline is 3 11/16.

Little performance upgrade on the way?

I set it up at the suggested 3 11/16 distance, but it will not pull the TV cable out any... it shift 1-2 fine, but 2-3 is sloppy...

rodj - you said
"distance from the front of the bracket ( lower hole ) where the TV cable mounts to the stud centerline is 3 11/16."
Is this measured from the mounting hole of the TPI linkage bracket or the actual length as my pic shows?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but shouldn't I be able to connect the TV cable and then go WOT and the cable pull out (making clicking sound as its being pulled) to proper (or near) adjustment?

The trans is fresh and I don't want to burn it trying to figure this out

This is a good read "TV System 101"

The safest way (maybe not the easiest) is to use a pressure gauge to set it.

FYI - here are the before and after pics (the zip tie was to see if it made the trans shift any better - it didn't..)
