Default Can I get a pic?

I'm trying to do the TB bypass and ran into a small snag.

If anyone has a pic of an LTx under the passenger side fuel rail, I can point out the part.

Its canister shaped, tword the front of the engine, with a 2 wire connector in the top of it. I need to know what it is, and how the hell to move it out of my way, it seems fastened well, but I cant tell from where lol.

Does it connect to the passenger side of the throttle body via a short hose?? If so, this will be the charcol canister purge solenoid.

Do you see it here in this pic? Red plug going into it and 2 hoses coming out directly under the MAP sensor?

Remove it and put it back on when youre done. Why would you want to throw it away? It will set a DTC if you leave it unplugged.

Mekanic, I just took a look at my LT1 and unfortunately it is different but I did learn something that may help. As Casey indicated the part to the rear of the part in question is the canister purge solenoid, since it is in the same vacuum line I'd say it is a timer/bleed or some other type of control for the purge solenoid.
Try looking at the vacuum label on the radiator support, most devices connected to the vacuum lines on my LT1 are clearly labeled on the diagram. Removal would seem to be a matter of disconnecting the vacuum hoses and unplugging the electrical connector unless there is something not visible in the picture? If not perhaps you can find removal instructions in the FSM once you know what it is called. Good luck.

Itll be part of the CCP system Toptechx6, but these 96s can be tricky barstards if you dont put things back in working order!!!

As Toptech says youd really need to either look in the factory service manual or something else that can tell you once and for all exactly what it does, but 5 will get you 10 you cant just remove it and expect everything to work without the SES light. Harder to pick than a broken nose if you dont know what it does though.

After reading this post I see I may have misunderstood the question (happens a lot when you get old!) I thought Mekanic was interested in removal just to simplify the T-body by-pass and would then reinstall the part. I agree that permanent removal on an OBDII car could have SES light implications.

Just took another look at mine and see the Canister Purge solenoid (which mounts in the same area on the LT1) is attached to a metal bracket bolted to one of the intake manifold bolts. (about 13mm?) Imagine if you back out that one bolt it will lift off.

No problem, may simply be a nut on top of the manifold bolt/stud so you won't even need to remove the manifold fastener, just the top nut. The 13MM reference was a guess at head size, not bolt diameter. Good luck, let us know how you do.
