85 computer
The 85 uses a '6870 ECM, while the 86 and 87 use a '165 ECM. The ECM's do interchange with some minor rewiring, but they are definately not plug and play. '6870 ECM's use a chip, while the '165 ECM's have a removable memcal with a chip inside it. I don't know which ECM was used in 1984, but it wasn't the '6870 or the '165.
The first number of 1226870 makes it a 1985 ECM, but there were a few applications depending on the chip installed.

The 86-89 ECM's are the same. The chip is where the difference is.
