rear wheel bearing damage?
When I got the car back I noticed that the wheel and tie rod had been replaced but not the bearing. I was told by the shop owner that the chassis shop did not find a problem and noted that my U-joints needed replaced but were not a result of the accident.
Since I do all my own work on the car I know that that bearing was fine before the collision but now I have to take it to another shop to have them prove it was a result of the collision so the insurance will fix it.
The question is..... does anyone out there feel that the play I see in the bearing could be due to a strike to the wheel? Has anyone ever ran across this before?

These bearings are fragile. The bearings and U-joints are part of the suspension, the Ujoints make up part of the upper control arm, aka halfshaft, and saw a huge impact load when the wheel broke on the curb.
