This morning i started to disassemble my whole exhaust sustem this morning, everything is going smoothly except for the pipes coming out of the top of the manifold, either the air lines or the egr valve whichever comes out of the top of the manifold and wraps around the back of the engine...
I am having troubles getting the pipe to even budge, i have soaked them with pb blaster and they still wont move, What is the purpose of this tube??
I am thinking about cutting it out of the way and replacing it, or just plugging the holes if it is un-needed...
Anyone that has put headers on their car your help would be appreciated...

They are you AIR tubes. Do your headers have provisions for them? One of mine was frozen too and required heating with an oxy-acetylene torch to remove it intact. Did your cats come loose from their brackets? If so you were fortunate there.
Yes, the cats came off no problem, i removed the exhaust from the manifold bolts all the way back to the mufflers in one piece, no problems except for an aching arm muscle, these damn air pipes are the only thing so far giving me troubles...
Thank you for your reply, i will try heating them up a bit, hopefully that works...
If that doesnt work can these be replaced, if so how much approximately???

I'm guessing that since GM has quit making many replacement parts for C4s now that these are no longer available new. They were rather pricey when they were, too. Whether any Corvette vendors still have some NOS ones sitting around, I couldn't say. If you plan to use them, do your best to preserve them. Get a quality 7/8" flare nut wrench if you don't have one already.
Are you running emissions with your new headers? If you are not, you don't need that tube - cut it in half. Plug the EGR hole with an easily fabbed plate and gasket, or you can buy one. If you need to use that exact tube with your headers, try to save it. If you can not, you can buy them new through Eckler's.
You probably won't pass an emissions test with the emissions stuff gone. In NY, they only sniff 96 and up...so anyone with a 95 and older gets a free pass to tear the smog crap right out of the car.
If you have a healthier cam, I think it makes the EGR reduntant because of the valve overlap. I don't think there is one on the LT4. I kept mine because I want to keep the emissions components intact.
