Default Evans coolant????

Is this coolant worth it's cost to use in a daily driver?
Is it all it is said to be?

Is water giving you that much trouble? If you are having cooling problems, try cleaning your cooling system, inside and out. There is no need to change radiators, water pumps, and whatever else just to get efficient cooling. The short answer...No.

RACE ON!!!

My vote is that Evans NPG waterless coolant works - but I agree it is
unnecessary for your stated application.

The last time I checked, Evans costs $25/gal and a modified water
pump along with increased overflow capacity are recommended for
best results. It is NOT a discount outlet product.

The most extensive write-up I've read is the May '04 (pg 105) article
'Mustang 5.0 Part VII: Waterless Cooling With Evans' by J.G. Pasterjak
in Grassroots Motorsports (JGP is now a C5 owner and particpates here
as 'jpasterjak'.) A side-bar in the article discusses an experiment for
the Leidenfrost effect. The conclusion is that engines under stress
could benefit, those that aren't won't.

There is another article where a turbo I-4 receives Evans and is dyno'd.
I believe this was in GRM, but I can't find it. Those results show
conclusive evidence that NPG is an improvement over glycol/distilled
mixes.

Baldturbofreak and NITROUS JUNKIE both report using Evans. Here
are some threads discussing it

- Waterless Coolant - Anyone Use It?
- waterless cooling by EVANS

The Evans site has some marketing information for those who have
not heard about the product.

Oops.

My statement above falls into the category of unsubstantiated bumph.
My friend's, cousin's best friend says ...

If I can find the material, I will post it. Until then, my statement is
not worth the paper it isn't printed on.

Regrets,
Ken R.
