I want to order a tune from Alvin however when I went to his website you have to pay for it before you order it. I wanted to see what my choices are as far as fan settings and make sure I know exactly what I want before I spend the $ I have a couple of questions about his mail order LT1 tune as well. Has anyone got a dyno pull on one of his chips on a LT1 and if you do what's the improvement and where does it pick up the extra horsepower in the rpm range ? Hopefully he'll see this and reply. Is it a s.o.t.p. improvement ? I did gears and got a converter from Pete K. so this is my next step.

I have a tune from Alvin on my '93. I did many mods at the time of the first chip so I can't comment on how much it contributed by itself, but the car ran excellently. He also burned several new versions when I made changes to the car after the initial tune and turned them around very quickly. I should also mention that two years later he is still providing great customer support, I just emailed a question the other day and got a timely response.

BTW, just email him at alvin@pcmforless if you have questions before the tune. Also, you can download the order form from the website without actually paying to see the options you have as far as fans, AIR, EGR, etc. before you send payment.

You might want to look into TJWONG as well for tuning.

PM Lone Ranger as he might have some valuable input as well...
I had lots of questions on mine and he walked me through all the options. I told him every last mod I had done to the car and he tuned it specifically for that. It included things such as fan turn on temps, thermostat temps and I got a 2nd chip specifically tuned for a 150shot of nitrous whenever I run that.
Service was FAST and I could not be happier with the chip. I am glad I called though, he set my mind at ease with all the questions I had.
This is not going to be of much help to you since mine is modified, but Alvins mail order tune was just about dead on, with the mods in my signiture. It made 356hp and passed emissions test. His dyno tune got me 6hp bringing it up to 362.
A couple of weeks ago I received my PCMFORLESS re-burned PCM; Brian did mine. I haven't done any dyno or track testing but I couldn't be happier.
I could tell the positive difference as soon as the engine instantly fired. Even part throttle performance is much improved.
I plan to have it re-burned by him as I make changes to the now stock engine; like when I add better flowing cylinder heads, a longer duration camshaft, etc.
Alvin, at PCMFORLESS did a re-burn for my 415 CID L98 that's in my 86 Vette. Even though I had been running a different mail-order, re-burned PROM, the programming Alvin did was an instant improvement.
It's not just the HP/Torque increase either, it's also how much more enjoyable the engine feels just driving around the local streets. Even with light acceleration the engine is so much more crisp and responsive.
