I'm trying to put this car back together (90 vert) from a box of parts. I have 4 Little black, plastic (hard) blocks about 2 x1x1 with 2 equally spaced holes going through it! The space between the holes is the same as the injectors, but i can't see them having anything to do with that! I can't figureout how to post a picture, so maybe my description is enough! any thoughts?

I can't think of anything off the top of my head...Maybe its something speed density related since you have a 90. If you email me the pic I will host it for you. Email

Are they like a bushing? I had just had my rear wheels off this weekend, and noticed some hard rubbery bushings that match that description inside the wheel well, I guess to stop suspension from getting smashed against the body when hitting potholes or something...
They sound like the spacers from the x brace to the frame. When you remove the x brace the rear connections have spacers about that same size. They are black in color and are made of pretty dense plastic.

This is exactly what I was thinking.
But...you say you have 4 of them. You should only have two.

Sorry, but unless there is two different designs for the x-brace he does need 4 of them, two per side at the rear mounts. The one I bought from a forum member and put on my 85 needed 4 of them. However, the dimensions for them are approx. 2"x2"x1", not 1"x1"x2'. So as RRT vette said, we need pics.

You are right Midnight. 2 per side.
I stand corrected.
i will try to post pics asap! that leads me to my next question! I don't have the x brace! i have the holes so i can only assume that i need one! Where can i get one??? are they expensive?

Daniel, I don't want to open up a can of worms here, (the "need" for an X-Brace has been a contentious issue in the past on CF) but my car has, in my opinion, substantial chassis flex WITH the X-Brace. Just my two cents worth...
I'm with the rest if the group. I just dropped my exhause system to but in a B&M short throw, and those sound like the blocks that space the rear of the cross members. Last year I pulled the intake manifold and went over the entire top assembly and don't remember any parts from that section of thhe engine that sound like them. If people who take things apart would only learn to use labels!!
