While clearning my '86, I found this part lodged near the bottom of the driver's side front fender. It was loose and just hanging in position, so I removed it. The part looks like a body shim, but I'm not sure. Any idea what it might be and where it belongs?
I have been in the driver's side front fender area a few times on my 86 and don't remember seeing anything of that shape. What is it made of...metal, plastic, rubber, ect.?
It looks like the little "spike" type piece the aftermarket companies sell to place on the front 1/4 panels. There are usally 4 or 5 of them...check the Mid Am or Corvette Central catalogs.
Looks like the rubber fitting that fits on the side between hood and both sides (battery) location...
The part is made of hard plastic. I found it resting in the bottom of fender area on the battery side of the car. I'll see if I can find one on the opposite side, to see where and how it's mounted.
