High Idle and DMV Inspection issues
I have a 1991 Automatic trans. Coupe, running a stock engine with a K&N airfilter. the Car has 129,000 miles on it and runs very well, averaging 27-29 MPG highway.
Last emissions test I was informed that my Idle was just at (over) 1000 RPM, (which agreed with my dash Tach). Since the Emissions guy was in a good mood, he gave me a Pass.
Since then my idle became a little erratic and cold starts sluggish, so I replaced the existing injectors with 22# injectors. After the install, I fired it up (no issues at all) but the Idle now is at 1100 rpm. Also... the Idle air control valve is almost brand new as well.
Is there any way I can adjust this Idle down to meet State emissions requirements, or does this require a tech. I do have moderatly advanced skills, but my Chiltons manual doesn't refer to any idle adjustments or settings.
