After checking the a-arm and rear suspension bushings and finding them DOA, I need to do some suspension work. My 94 has the base suspension and I find it too soft. How are the 1990 Z51 & 1991 Zo7 spring rates for daily use? I'm not looking for that plush Caddy ride, I want something that corners very well and will live with a stiffer ride. My truck is a 01 Ram 3500 4x4, and it's stiff suspension is fine with me. Thanks for insight, Al
I've got a '91 ZR-1, and the front spring rate is pretty high. Here's the chart from the Corvette action center. It's got a soft rear spring. I really like the ride. Handles great, and I like a stiff front also.
I've never been in a Z07, but I would imagine they handle well, also. My first Vette was an '85 Z51. It had softer front and stiffer rear springs than the ZR-1, and a bigger front bar. I actually like the ride and handling of the Z better.
I actually had Hib Halversons suspension page open while I wrote the first post so I could get my references right. In my experience I prefer the GW approach to springs & sway bars; stiffer springs fine tuned by the sway bars. It has worked well for my two 3rd gen F-bodys. I appreciate the input, Al
