Default Another 95 that won't run.

Okay guys, heres my problem.

1995 M6, stripped road race car. Still using the original wiring and dash, including the factory LT1 harness and computer. The car has been sitting over the winter, and I just installed a set of long tube headers, and removed the AC/heater. I reconnected the cooling system, tried to start it, and got nothing. The lights work, battery is hot, I can hear the fuel pump cycle on for a few seconds, but no click, no nothing. There is no apparent power to the center LCD display in the dash.

We bypassed the solenoid, the car starts and runs until the start fuel runs out, then it quits.

VATS? Faulty ignition switch? Some relay?

Since you can get it started by hotwiring the solonoid, it sure sounds like a VATS problem to me. Do you have a spare key sittin' around somewhere? Also try cleaning the resistor pellet with alcohol...

SJW also posted a nice ignition diagram in a similar "no start" thread:

Default Thanks, Mike...

I think so too, after reading up some more.
I don't have an extra key, so I'll try to clean the old one tommorrow. I ordered a new ECM from Pcmforless.com and specified removal of the VATS. Maybe that'll do it.
