This is a strange one

Alright, get off the highway and to the side. Side. Try to start. No starty. Crap again.
Wait 25 minutes, start, starts right up. Ok, engine flooded, sat to clear, started up.
So, we've got a couple of problems here. Why did it die? Electrical is likely. Alternator? Battery? Both? Worth replacing, I guess. Battery looks pretty old. No idea about the alternator, couldn't hurt. Probably hit plugs and wires while I'm in there. Car runs great in gear, on the gas, etc. so I feel the optispark is likely ok. Anyone concur?
So, why is it that anytime the engine stalls, it floods, and I have to wait? It's happened more than once, mind you. So has the cutoff. This time, I was moving too slowly to pop the clutch and restart, though. Anyone have ideas on the fueling issue? Is the pump going bad? Why would this dump more fuel into the engine? Injectors? Bad ECU flash? Anyone?
