Heah guys my driver headlight only closes 3/4 when turning off lights. When I turn the light on it will keep going and flickering and after several seconds eventually become still.
I looked and cant find any reason to see why it wont shut all the way. Anyone got any ideas?
My 1990 coupe had headlight problems that got worse and worse. Sometimes the headlights would flip around into position, and sometimes they wouldn't. The previous owner gave me some new bushings and metal gears. I tried to install them but didn't have the right tools. So, I removed the headlight assemblies and took them to a shop that installed the bushings and gears. The headlights have worked fine for three years.
What year Corvette? If it's an 1988-96, sounds like bad bushings to me.
Sounds like what happened on my '88. Driver side went first, then the other one a few weeks later. There are three bushings in each motor. Mine had turned into powder! The bushings are around $6 for a set. Most aftermarket sellers have them. There were detailed instructions on how to do the job an issue of Corvette Fever a few years ago. Might be in on their web site in the tech articles section.

The cure is cheaper and simpler than you think. The passenger side can be fixed by simple removeing the three blots holding the cover. The drivers side will require you remove the headlight assembly as the arm on the shaft has to be removed to remove the bushing cover
Ya my car is an 89. i will try to see if its the screw on the side or bushings. Wish I had the cash I would install those 1000.00 lights that dont open and close.
