Default Mis-fire when engine compartment heat soaked..

If the engine gets hot (230+) in stop and go traffic and at some point it clearws up and I nail it, the engine breaks up at higer RPM's 3000+. I would describe it as a misfire..

This even happens if the engine comes back down to normal temps quickly (which it does) but underhood temps have yet had a chance to vent??!?

Could this be caused by a two of the bolts on the cover plate for the chip on the ECM being stripped (the other two still snug down).. ?!?!

engine specs in sig.. I do my own tuning..

Thanks!

BTW: I posted this in the tune section but maybe this is the better place..

Id be thinking its the ignition control module on its way out mate, pull it out and have it tested. I dont think the ECM screws will be affecting it.

, couple other things, I think your ECM is on the firewall? and they are susceptible to heat, I would fix that just to eliminate it. Another thing you may want to do is ohm your injectors both cold and hot.

Be sure and coat the new ICM with the packet of grease that comes with it or your new module will stir-fry itself to death in short order, too.
