On my 86, I took it off the power brake booster.
I installed a plastic connector in the booster that has a small bib, maybe 5/16", that I capped off with a rubber cap bought at AutoZone.
When I want to check the vacuum, I just remove the rubber cap and plug in my gauge.
You can also use one of the plenum bibs on the passenger side of the engine plenum where the vacuum to the fuel pressure regulator is.
