i was planning on purchasing a zz383 for my car and install it with a zf6 in my 84 corvette. well today i got the new jegs and noticed that the new ls2 engine is aprox same price range. i was wondering if it would be a problem mounting my zf6 to this? also was wondering if id need a different flywheel or clutch? what do you guys think would be the pros and cons to this? i believe i read the lsx series motors would be hard to swap into our c4s but it is possable right? im still in the planning stages and saving $ for engine swap. i do have the zf6 and clutch pedals and clutch slave and master. no clutch kit or flywheel yet. just basically looking for opinions and advice. oh and i dont plan on doing this myself plan is to have reputable garage doing the work so its not really a ? of weather id be able to do it myself.
already have the zf6 to use. just gotta put motor in front of it. why would ya need a adaptor plate? is the bolt pattern on the back of a lsx engine different or is it just the spacing between motor and tranny?

I take that back, the bolt patterns are the same.
At the very least, you'd have to verify the location of the flywheel surface relative to the end of the bellhousing, and that the pilot bearing will engage the input shaft but not bind against it. The ZF clutch doesn't have a whole lot of room for error.
